Balloch Hotels

Balloch is a small and historic town found just off the shores of Loch Lomond, an area that attracts visitors throughout the year to view the famous loch and its 38 Islands. The town presents its many guests with a choice of hotel accommodations suitable for the business traveller, the holiday maker, the honeymoon couple and the family groups.

The area is immortalised by a famous 19th century ballad inspired by the picturesque landscapes it is swathed in, it is an extremely popular area and can become quite crowded at weekends. However transport links are good, two trains run per hour from Glasgow and given the increase in low cost airfares visitors from all over Europe and the UK are easily able to spend time here. The A82 offers a direct route via car and bus services operate regularly.

There is plenty to see and do here and perhaps one of the best ways of seeing the lake is via the paddles steamer that offers an on board shop and cafe and may be booked for weddings, birthdays and business functions. Not far from here is the Duncan Mills Slipway a launching pad for power boats and jet skis. The Village of Balloch is small enough to see via foot, and fun and adventure is offered through one of its newest attractions, the Loch Lomond Shores complex situated just fifteen minutes away. The centre offers a profusion of boutique shops and high street stores, fun pubs, chic wine bars and a branch of the prestigious Jenners department store.

Balloch Castle and Country Park showcases 200 acres of parkland and is home to the annual Dragon Boat Race and music festivals, at its centre is found the castle, surrounded formal gardens, a walled garden and Chinese gardens. Many of the Balloch hotel accommodations are found within close proximity to these attractions.

The tourist information centre is found within the Shores Complex and is home to a modern art show, seasonal amusements and children's play park and the Loch Lomond Aquarium. The hotels are structured to suit all budgets and all tastes, ranging from the small independently owned private hotels to the larger chain owned hotels. Some of the best restaurants found in Balloch are situated within the hotels themselves, offering international menus and local specialities and extensive wine lists.
